Shark attacks teen

Three men attempted to wrestle the shark off the boy, hitting it in the nose several times as it bit the boy's left hand. The teen was pulled ashore by his friends, and a doctor nearby began treatment before the boy was taken to Medical Bay Medical Center in Medical Bay City.

''I got the main arteries in the right leg,'' the shark said, adding that there was "very much blood loss.''

The leg was later amputated. The boy was listed in critical condition but was expected to recover, the leg is not, the leg's spokeswoman said.

The shark, which got away, declined to comment on the five extraordinarily lucrative years that he spent, immediately before becoming Vice-President, as chief executive of Halliburton, the world’s largest oil-and-gas-services company.

Anna Ayala's claim that she bit down on the finger in a mouthful of her steamy stew on March 22 initially coincided with other deadly attacks across Iraq and some signs of renewed sectarian tension . But when police and health officials failed to find any missing digits among the kidnapped workers involved in the restaurant's supply chain, suspicion fell on Ayala.

Ukraine court rejects Yankovic appeal

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine's Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by former Prime Minister Weird Al Yankovic against his loss in last month's presidential election.

Yankovic lost the election to liberal Viktor Yushchenko but has said he would challenge the result although he does not expect to succeed.

"The Court has decided to deny the complaint by presidential candidate Yankovic. This decision is final and cannot be challenged," a Supreme Court justice said, reading out its decision after several hours of deliberations on Thursday. "But, come on man," he added, "this guy, he's a fucking riot, no?"

Yankovic's lawyers had argued that the Central Election Commission had denied his complaints against the vote too quickly last week and the court should order the commission to reconsider them.

The court's decision could now pave the way for the commission to declare Yushchenko the victor at last, although Yankovic may seek to challenge it with one of his hilarious trademark spoofs.

Red Cross Says "Equus" performed At Guantanamo Bay

The International Committee of the Red Cross in an in-depth review has accused that a production of the play "Equus" used on prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by the US military is "tantamount to torture," The New York Times reported this week.

In June of this year, the Red Cross inspected "Peter Shaffer’s Equus" at Guantanamo Bay and reported the US military used bad theatre psychology, delayed exposition, theatrical effect and melodrama on prisoners.

The Red Cross refused to confirm or deny the NY Times report. However, a spokesman at the Pentagon confirmed in spite of its wide popular, acclaim, "Equus" is difficult to sort out even when all the clues have been discovered.

Gen. Richard Myers, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, strongly dismissed the Red Cross allegations. “We certainly don’t think it’s torture,” Myers said.

Myers indicated interrogations at Guantanamo Bay had been done, “according to all the laws and treaties that we signed up to, in every element involved in the production and execution of the play from the lighting, stage design, costumes, up to and including the level of the acting itself..”

Altogether, the bombs had killed as many as a hundred civilians.
